I think this is where your last advice comes handy, but because these businesses are easily setup without huge investments – it’s really tempting to start everything all at once!

Most definately agree with you. It’s always important to keep not only our short term, but also our long term goals in sight. It’s very easy to get ‘narrow minded’ and focus on one thing to much which can steer you of the course you’d inevitably like to be on.

It’s why i evaluate my goals every few days to see if i’m on the correct path and if things need changing, i take ACTION.

I certainly agree with you regarding #6. Once a mistake is made, always be sure to take a look at not only your business, but also yourself and see where you can tweak things to make sure the same mistake does not happen again. We’re all constantly learning.

#1: Is an old saying that still exists for a reason, and because it is indeed true! The key here is having a focus on what someone really wants to do. I read a similar post on Entrepreneur yesterday saying you have to choose a business that you’re obsessed with.

#6: Problems are inevitable in business but once you’ve dealt with them, make sure they don’t make a come-back by adjusting business operations accordingly. As time goes by, a business owner will have better foresight on red flags (ie problematic buyers, faulty suppliers, etc.) and even make opportunities/ better solutions out of this troubles.
